This week we added in a craft to our math to practice odd and even numbers. The students were given the task of making a monster and then recording the even and odd parts of their math monsters. This was a fun way to integrate our creativity with our math!
Last week the class learned how we do our math stations in 2nd grade. A few days a week we break down to small groups in order to better implement the math lesson. The students go through the stations of see the teacher, math assignment, and a partner station that may include a partner math game, a hands on activity, or an ipad app. They did a great job!
As we are getting into our math routines, the students worked on "Math About Me." The numbers on their person were all about them... their age, number of family members, number of pets, favorite number, and even number of teeth lost! They turned out great!
